Chief Poundmaker’s Grave

October 3, 2012 § Leave a comment

Province, the stone I left at Chief Poundmaker’s grave was found by Jamie Couillonneur and it will be shared with the students at the community’s school before it returns to Regina. This makes me very happy. The day I placed the stone was cold and windy, but the fresh rain brought out the essence of the land and imbued my experience with the scent of sage. Chief Poundmaker was an enlightened man, a skilled orator and leader who stood for peace; this stone is meant to honour him.
