The Case Of The Missing Tyndall

April 24, 2013 § Leave a comment

Province! Recently I took a road trip to Alberta, and along the way I checked in on some of the stones I hid last summer. Three are missing! Have they been found? Kept? Or lost? If you recognize these images, you have clues as to where stones may be lingering…

Another spring discovery! I really wanted to explore this hardware store in Kerrobert, but alas, it was a Sunday and the shop was closed. Congratulations, Andy!

Dusk was descending when I arrived at Yellow Grass in mid-December. I left the stone atop a cenotaph in the park. Huge congratulations to Landon, who recently discovered it there!

Congratulations to two students from Val Marie school, who have unturned the stone I left there in the fall! The first spring discovery, hooray!

Buried

Well Province, I have no excuse for my extended absence from the blog, except that winter swallowed me whole. The season has been rather arduous, as you all know. No Tyndall stones have been discovered since December, likely because most of them are buried beneath mountains of snow. But happily, spring is a new beginning.

Long Live The Saskatchewan Arts Board

I couldn’t have embarked upon this project without the support of the SK Arts Board. Did you know, Province, that our Arts Board was the first agency of its kind in Canada? It was established in 1948, and I hope it continues til the end of time. Thanks, SK Arts Board!

Province, I haven’t given any clues about hiding spots yet. But perhaps you  might glean some inspiration from the stories of participants who’ve unturned stones.

The Crooked Trees

January 14, 2013 § Leave a comment

These trees are spooky and mysterious and worth a visit. Known locally as The Crooked Bush, the aspens twist grotesquely, while just across the road the trees stand straight and tall. I was informed recently that the stone I left in the bush has been found!

Magic Numbers

Hello there, Province! Remember the stone from Adanac? Well, the gentleman who found the cube kindly returned it to me by mail. It was very nicely packaged; there was a lovely letter containing the story of the discovery, along with an article that was written about HiddenTyndall in the local paper, the Northwest Herald. But the best thing? This is the 12th stone to be returned to the Legislative building and it arrived at my doorstep on 12.12.12! I really like that auspicious detail.
