Sorry for the long silence, Province. I was relaxing, eating, and spending time with friends and family. I think this may be the most beautiful winter I’ve ever seen.

Province, I love our old bridges. I left a stone on the one at St. Louis and it was found shortly after by a gentleman from the area.

Province, here are some photos of the wonderful people who have participated in the project.

Marla Kay brought in the find from Fairlight, and Joan Waldner actually discovered the stone hidden at Turtle Lake. Sometimes, many people are involved in bringing the stones home. Bonnie Taylor, Rhonda Walz, Millie and Evelyn Harding carried the stone from Woodrow to Regina for Larry Harding. Thanks, everyone!

Adanac

Spell Adanac backwards and you get Canada! That’s known as an anadrome, Province, if you’re into word games. I hid a stone in Adanac, which is a ghost town if I’ve ever seen one. Recently that stone was discovered by John Beasse of Unity, SK. Congratulations, John!

I hid a stone on a bookshelf at the Assiniboia Public Library. Congratulations to the staff who found it!

Because it’s an amazing landmark, and someone practices their golf swing off the top!

The Big Muddy Badlands

My apologies for having been absent lately, Province. The permanent art work was unveiled at the Legislative building on December 5th, so I’ve been preoccupied. Pictures to come!

In the meantime take a look at the most recently unturned stone, which was found near the top of Castle Butte in the Big Muddy Badlands! Another adventure-worthy area of our province, to be sure. Congratulations Alexandra, on having made the discovery!

Carrot River

When I arrived in Carrot River, dusk had fallen and I was an hour’s drive from the campsite where I would rest the night. Thankfully, the Carrot River Library was open that evening and I surreptitiously placed the stone atop some books on a low shelf as a small group of women knitted nearby. Unfortunately, conditions were not ideal for photography; I just now noticed the number 100 in the book title! Congratulations, Maria, on discovering the stone!

Province, here are a few details from The Great Sand Hills simply because they are sublime.

The Great Sand Hills

Have you visited this magnificent piece of the prairie? Province, if you have not, then make it your next adventure destination. These dunes are breathtaking; silky smooth sand, arching up out of the grasses and shrubs of the surrounding hills in testament to the strangeness of our world. And though I buried the stone well, the wind worked quickly to reveal it to Linda Watson. Congratulations, Linda!
